Production Plants

Villeroy & BochVilleroy & Boch worldwide activities are controlled from their company headquarters in Mettlach/Saar - a location in Germany in which the three countries of Germany, France and Luxembourg meet. The output for their three divisions is produced at 19 plants in 12 European countries.


Production Innovations

Innovative power has been an integral part of the company's character for over 250 years. They have repeatedly worked on optimising the ceramic material, production processes and functionality, and have created new product solutions. As a result new horizons have been opened up in terms of product aesthetics.

They were one of the first companies in the design field to systematically introduce the pattern and colour concept "Mix & Match" into all tableware lifestyles. Furthermore, they received the "2004 German Business Innovation Award" both for their exciting tableware design "NewWave Caffè" and the production technique which was developed specially to handle its asymmetrical shape.

Innovation and Environment

State-of-the-art production processes and stringent quality controls enable Villeroy & Boch to meet the highest standards with regard to materials, workmanship Villeroy & Bochand durability. For every product that leaves their production plants. Their quality management system ensures the quality of all corporate processes - through to the finished product. They are certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001.

They pay careful attention to the consequences which may arise for the environment as a result of manufacturing products made of ceramic, Quaryl/acrylic etc. Their aim is to maintain a long-term balance between economic, ecological and social goals at all locations.

Saving energy, water and raw materials is equally important to Villeroy & Boch, as helping to develop process-integrated measures which will conserve resources. For many years now, they have also been involved in the area of "applied research", with the aim of achieving environmentally sustainable processes and products from the development to the application stage. Below are some examples of projects sponsored by the Ministry of Education and Research:

- Development of an environment-friendly glazing process for use in the production of flatware
- Reducing energy consumption by changing production processes in the area of ceramic sanitary-ware
- Reducing raw materials consumption in the production of tiles and sanitary-ware products with the help of fail-safe test methods.
